Colombian Cacao Shines as the Best in the World

Colombian cacao — especially the cacao grown in the department of Meta — has once again been named the best in the world, taking top honors at the international Cacao of Excellence competition held in Amsterdam. It's the sixth time Colombia has earned the award, this time highlighting the quality of the Fedecacao Arauquita 5 (FEAR-5) and Fedecacao San Vicente 41 (FSV41) clones — and it places Colombia among the world's top five cacao producers, with its cacao on a global stage.
Eduard Baquero, president of Colombia's National Federation of Cacao Growers, noted that the recognition will help grow both production and exports. The competition drew more than 300 cacao samples from around the world and placed Colombian cacao — particularly that from Meta — at the very top.
With this award, Colombian cacao ranks among the five best in the world. The judges — renowned chocolate makers and chefs from across the cacao world — awarded the samples from Meta the gold medal.
The recognition speaks to the quality of the cacao itself and to Colombia's growing prestige as an exporter of top-quality products. Baquero emphasized that the award will draw the attention of international buyers, lifting the country's exports and promoting Colombian cacao in global markets.
Magno Chocolates celebrates this achievement as a chance to showcase the richness of Colombian cacao through its chocolates — along with its commitment to sustainable development and high-quality cacao production. Magno Chocolates aims to delight every palate with exceptional creations while telling the story of a country rich in culture and cacao-growing tradition.
The distinction earned at Cacao of Excellence positions Colombia as a trusted source of premium cacao — and Magno Chocolates is proud to craft its creations exclusively with Colombian cacao.
